We
live in the southwest of France, in the heart of the Pyrénées
in Lourdes, in the middle of the countryside next to a flowing
stream, much to the pleasure of our Dogos.
We first discovered the Argentinian Mastiff a few years ago.
Our fist dog was "NORA", a female, and then "NANDOU", a wonderful,
playful companion, son of the CH. "GAUCHO DE INDIOS" and "CUENCA
DEL CHAMICAL"."O'TRIBALE" enlarged the family, granddaughter
of GR. CH. "ESTUQUE de SAN ISABEL". |
We decided to follow
the tracks of the Dogo in his country of origin, in Argentina,
which permitted us to bring back a male : "BAJADOR DE LA VIEJA
DIANA" and the GR. CH.(CGLI) AÑA DE JAURIA BRAVA".

We had the
chance to visit several breeders : "LA VIEJA DE DIANA" of our
friends Carlos Hernandez et Marcela Cauvin producers of a number
of champions (Mendieta, la jefa, Don torcuato et Talisman CH.
of the World 2000) as well as "CABANA JAURIA BRAVA" and "BRAVOURE
BLANCHE" of our friends Carlos Bellavistis et Viviana Gonzalès,
their mastiffs are very typical with very strong bone structure,
broad backs, massive heads, large and impressive like "JUCARO"
(Son of "RECADO" nicknamed "TYSON") and finally "EL LOCO" of
Mr Hernandez, one of the last subjects produced by Don Rubet
Paset Lastra (one of the people who participated in the creation
of the breed).
During our stay, we had the chance to admire some Argentinian
GR. CHs. like "BRISA DE ANTARES", 2nd in the world
2000, "AHIJUNA DE JAURIA BRAVA", 3rd (sister of "ANA")
in the world 2000, "MALEVA DE NUEVA CORDOBA" (daughter of GR.
CH. "ESTUQUE DE SAN ISABEL"), "TALISMAN DE LA VIEJA DIANA",
CH. of the world 2000, "BARON DE LA HERENCIA", 2nd
in the world cup, "RECADO" and "TYSON" of "BRAVOURE BLANCHE",
3rd class youngster in the world cup, "NAHUE DE VALINO", produced
by Dr Victor Valino and "TULE DE LA VIEJA DIANA" presented by
"Peco".
We went to a show at La Plata where "RECADO" of "BRAVOURE BLANCHE"
took 2 CAC/3 and best of breed in front of "BARON DE LA HERANCIA".
The best of breed for the opposite sex was taken by "ANA DE
JAURIA BRAVA".
